There has been an exciting bit of news lately for Eddystone Eel! Yet another UK RECORD has been broken - and when we say broken, we mean SMASHED!

Caught by Plymouth Angler Mark Curtis aboard Sea Angler II (Malcolm Jones) the heavy-weight Whiting weighed in at a chunky 7lb 6oz - the previous Whiting record being set at 6lb 12oz 30 years ago in 1981. The Record Breaking Whiting was tempted by none other than our very own Eddystone Eel in orange! 40 years after its introduction Eddystone Eels are STILL proving to be Record Breaking Fishing lures!
